Schroth Best Practice Advanced Therapist
Conservative treatment for adolescent and adult Scoliosis and Kyphosis.
Welcome to my website. My name is Peter Roberts, Schroth therapist.
I offer instruction in the Schroth method specific exercise program for the treatment of scoliosis. I am based in Malmesbury in Wiltshire,South West England.
Schroth therapy has been developed over many years and is the best researched of all the conservative management programs.
Patients attend the clinic to learn their program individualised to the curve pattern, and then follow the program at home. Reviews are conducted as needed to resolve any problems and alter the exercises as curve patterns change.
What is Scoliosis?
Scoliosis is a spinal axial deviation in all three planes, affecting posture and movement.
Due to the deviation of the spine, typical trunk deformities are bending sideways and rotating to the side of the convexity, bending to one side and rotating to the opposite side.
The most common kind of scoliosis is idiopathic. This means that the cause is at present unknown, and 80-90% of all patients will have an idiopathic curve.
What is Schroth?
Schroth is a 3 dimensional method of self correction designed to re align the scoliotic spine.
Key Aspects of Schroth Therapy:
Scoliosis Treatments
Schroth exercises are designed to achieve correction and mobilisation of scoliotic curves.
Scoliosis Exercises become part of daily life. This can be achieved by corrections being integrated into a patient's postural habit.
The aim is for the corrected alignment focused on in the exercises to be applied in day-to-day life and to eventually become a new conscious posture.
